Learning how to pack pictures and frames keeps glass intact and prints clean. Taping the glass and padding each frame protects both the image and the people carrying the box.
Step: Group frames by size for easier packing
Step: Apply painters tape in an X across glass fronts
Step: Wrap each frame in paper, then bubble wrap
Step: Stand framed pictures on edge inside the box
Step: Add cardboard between frames so they do not rub
Step: Pad the top and bottom of the box with paper
Step: Label the box FRAGILE and mark which side is up
Step: Carry the box upright, never flat
Protecting framed photos and small art.
When: Pack pictures and frames in the final week of packing.
Watch out: Do not pack framed glass flat or loose; taping the glass and standing frames on edge prevents cracks and contains shards if one breaks.
