How to Move a Dune Buggy

A dune buggy or sand rail moves on a trailer, and the job is loading it safely and strapping the frame at four points so its light, tall body cannot shift or tip. This guide covers ramp loading, the four-corner tie-down, and fuel prep, whether you are hauling a buggy to the dunes or shipping one to a new home.

Pro tip: Compressing the suspension with the straps keeps the light buggy from bouncing loose over bumps.

Watch out: Do not strap to fiberglass body panels or the roll cage tubing that is not designed for it. Use the frame and suspension anchor points.
