Pro tip: Tuck a folded towel inside the pot itself before adding the lid on top, giving cushioning without adding a separate item to pack.
Watch out: Never let the lid rest directly on the pot without padding between them; the two enamel surfaces meeting is one of the most common causes of a chipped rim.
