How to Move a Generator

A generator is a small engine, and the big hazards are all about fuel. Gasoline vapor is dangerous in an enclosed space, so you either drain the fuel or stabilize and seal it, and you never transport an open can of gas inside a passenger cabin.

Pro tip: Running the carburetor dry before storage prevents stale fuel from gumming up the jets.

Watch out: Gasoline and its vapor are a fire and inhalation hazard. Never transport an open fuel container in an enclosed passenger cabin.
