How to Move Succulents

Succulents are some of the toughest houseplants to transport since they store their own water and tolerate a few days of neglect, but their thick leaves bruise and their shallow pots tip easily if not kept upright.

Pro tip: A broken succulent leaf is not wasted; let the cut end callus for a few days on dry soil and it will often root into a new plant.

Watch out: Wrapping succulent leaves tightly in paper or plastic bruises the fleshy tissue, which then rots instead of healing.
