The seal bar is a thin heating element that bends easily under weight, and it is usually what fails first if a vacuum sealer is packed carelessly. Keep pressure off that bar and this is a light, quick pack.
Pro tip: Keep a few rolls of bags in your personal moving bag so you can vacuum seal leftover pantry food before the move instead of tossing it.
Watch out: Never stack anything on top of a packed vacuum sealer; the seal bar bends under weight far more easily than the plastic housing suggests.
