How to Move a Wardrobe

A freestanding wardrobe is a tall, hollow case that becomes much easier to move once the doors and hanging rail come off. Keep it upright and pad the corners and it travels well.

Pro tip: Use a wardrobe box so your hanging clothes transfer directly and are ready to hang in the new closet.

Watch out: A wardrobe case is often held square only by a thin back panel; laying it flat or racking it can pop the back off and loosen every joint.
