How to Move a Wheelchair

A wheelchair should never disappear into a moving truck the way furniture does; it needs to stay reachable the entire day. Fold it, protect the cushion, and keep it as close to hand as your keys.

Pro tip: Photograph the seat cushion's orientation and any pressure-relief zones before removing it, since some therapeutic cushions are directional and lose their benefit if installed backward.

Watch out: Never pack a wheelchair where it is not immediately accessible on arrival; the person who relies on it may need it the moment the truck is unloaded, not after the boxes.
